From what ReverseEngineeringGamer has shown, most of the game's features work well from the first-person perspective, including the series' standard diegetic interface. A modder going by the appropriate nickname of ReverseEngineeringGamer has released a retrofit for the 2008 version of Dead Space, turning the game into a full-fledged FPS. While the new remake of Dead Space may have attracted all the franchise and general horror fans' attention as of late, it would appear that there's still good reason to go back to the original after all. Now, as EA gauges interest in more Dead Space remakes, the franchise appears to have been given a new lease on life after the remake of the 2008 original kicked things into overdrive.
While the classic third-person over-the-shoulder perspective has historically been a mainstay for the vast majority of Dead Space games across all platforms, there have always been those who would've preferred to play from a different point of view.
